Frequently asked questions
If you haven’t found what you were looking for. Please contact us. We will personally answer everything you want to know about tandem jumps.
Safety & fears about skydiving or heights.
- The forecasts show bad weather on the day of my jump. What should I do?
No forecast ever is 100% certain. Keep in mind, that all forecasts are just probability rates. We decide whether the weather is suitable for tandem jumps or not usually in the morning of the day. If it turns out that we cannot safely operate, we will let you know immediately. Then we will agree together on a suitable backup date or we will refund you completely, the same way you paid originally (e.g., by bank transfer back to your account)
- Is tandem jump really safe?
Absolutely! Your safety is our top priority. Here's why you can trust us with your skydiving adventure:
- State-of-the-Art Equipment: We use cutting-edge parachutes made in the USA, which are regularly tested, certified, and meticulously maintained. This ensures they are always in perfect condition.
- Certified Professionals: Our parachutes are packed by highly trained, certified technicians. Even our backup parachutes are repacked on a strict schedule (whether used or not) and undergo mandatory inspections as required by law.
- Experienced Tandem Pilots: Every tandem pilot on our team has completed rigorous training and has at least 5,000 jumps of experience. You’re in expert hands!
- Proven Track Record: With over 18 years in the business and 8,000–10,000 jumps completed each season, we’re proud to say we’ve never had a single incident.
And here’s a fun fact: Statistically, you're far more likely to be struck by lightning than to experience any issues during a tandem jump! 😊
So, when you take that leap with us, you can focus entirely on the thrill and excitement of the experience—because we’ve taken care of everything else.
- What if the parachute does not open?
Each skydiving parachute is equipped with a main and back up canopy. Each and every one! As a passenger you are jumping with a trained professional who knows perfectly what to do in case of emergency and is able to handle these kinds of situations. Your safety is and always will be a number one priority.
On top of that all of our parachutes are equipped with a Cypres AAD device. This device is constantly measuring speed and altitude during the jump real time during the jump - and if you are falling too fast or you are too low, it will automatically deploy the backup parachute.
- Will I be able to breathe during the freefall?
Yes. Don’t worry, breathing in and out during the freefall is very easy - you won’t even notice you are doing it. You can also scream if you’d like, or keep your mouth closed, or open, however you like it. None of that will hurt you or be unpleasant in any way.
- What if I am afraid of heights?
At first, it’s hard to believe, but you will see on your own. Fear of heights has no place here (it’s the same with commercial air travel). We tell the same thing to everyone who is afraid of heights: It’s like looking at satellite pictures on maps, at 4200 meters (13780 ft) or at 6000 meters (19 700 ft) the ground below is still pretty far away and kind of an abstract. Believe us that after you land you will be so excited, you will immediately want to go again. Fear of heights or not.
- Will I wear a helmet?
No, tandem jump participants typically don’t wear helmets. This is to ensure clear communication and avoid interfering with the tandem pilot, who is positioned right behind you.
Your tandem pilot will wear a helmet as part of their safety gear, as they are responsible for guiding the jump and ensuring a smooth landing. The equipment you’ll wear is designed to keep you safe and comfortable throughout the experience.
Before you book your tandem jump
- What is the maximum weight limit for tandem jump skydiving?
The weight limit depends on the altitude of the jump:
- From 4,200 meters (13,800 feet): The maximum weight is 120 kg (265 pounds). Surcharges apply if you weigh over 95 kg (209 pounds). If you weigh between 111 kg and 120 kg (245–265 pounds), your height must not be over 185 cm (6'1").
- From 6,000 meters (19,700 feet): The maximum weight is 90 kg (198 pounds).
Your body shape and size also matter. Your BMI (Body Mass Index) should be 35 or less to ensure the gear fits properly.
If you’re unsure, please contact us, and we’ll be happy to help!
- What is the minimum weight? Can my children also try skydiving?
Yes, children can try tandem skydiving! However, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the application form on their behalf. To ensure their safety and comfort, children must:
- Weigh at least 40 kg (88 pounds).
- Be at least 135 cm (4'5") tall to fit properly in our children's suits.
If you’d like your little ones to share this incredible experience, we’ll make sure they are fully prepared and comfortable!
- What is the minimum age for tandem jump?
The minimum age for tandem skydiving is 18. Participants under 18 may be eligible with a parent or legal guardian’s consent, which requires them to complete and sign the application form.
For jumps from 4,200 meters, there are no age restrictions.
However, for jumps above 6,000 meters, participants must be at least 18 years old.
- What is the maximum age?
- For jumps from 2 km (13,800 feet): No maximum age, as long as you feel fit and ready.
- For jumps from 6 km (19,700 feet): The maximum age is 60 years old.
- Can I bring a friend to take a look at my jump?
Of course. We have a special observation deck, where they can watch you in comfort. There’s also a snackbar and toilets available.
- Can I jump in a Superman costume (or something crazy like that)?
Send us a picture of the costume you would like to jump in. We will try to assess from that if it is safe to jump in or not. If it will not jeopardize in any way the safety of the jump, you can wear it. But in this case, we are in no way responsible if it gets dirty or damaged during the jump.
- What should I wear for my tandem jump?
Just wear whatever is comfortable for you and makes you feel good. Ideally some lightweight sportswear, which can fit under our jumpsuit made for tandem jump skydiving. We will of course rent you the jumpsuit for the jump. Only things you’ll definitely need are good sports shoes, which do not fall from your feet during the jump. Firstly, you would never find it again, and lastly it could present a danger for other skydivers. Avoid extremes like flip-flops or hiking boots.
- Can I eat before the jump?
This is very individual. Best is to stick to your usual routine. Just don’t overeat. Definitely don’t hold any special “skydiving diet”. Just in case you get a little nauseous during commercial air travel or on a rollercoaster don’t eat anything close to the jump time and rather have just a light snack.
- What if my jump got cancelled due to bad weather?
In that case we will either reschedule or refund you in the same way you paid originally (e.g., by bank transfer back to your account). Only exceptions are last minute jumps, where we don’t offer you a backup date, we will “only” refund you.
- How do I get to the place of the jump?
The easiest way is to enter the location of our airport into your GPS or mobile maps app and follow the directions. For extra guidance, you can download our detailed PDF guide on how to reach us.

Airport Most – LKMO:
- GPS Coordinates: 50.52532, 13.679088
- When do you jump?
Our jumping schedule depends on the weather. Typically, our season runs from early April to late October, and we usually operate on weekends and public holidays. The schedule may also vary based on the number of people booked for a given day.
For specific dates and availability, please check the “Book Now” page on our website.
- How long does it take? How much time am I going to spend at the airport?
When you arrive at the airport, we’ll start by filling out a quick application form together. Then you’ll get suited up for the jump, followed by a 5–20 minute briefing to prepare you for the experience.
The plane ride to the jump altitude takes about 20 minutes. The freefall lasts 60 seconds (or more than 90 seconds for higher jumps), followed by 8–10 minutes of gliding under an open parachute. After landing, you’ll have time to take it all in, change back into your clothes, and receive your certificate.
While the jump itself doesn’t take too long, we recommend setting aside 3–4 hours in total from your arrival at the airport. This allows for any potential schedule changes due to weather or other factors.
Videos and photos of tandem jumps
- Can I have my jump photographed and recorded?
Yes! Our skilled cameramen will capture all the best moments of your jump, including the freefall and landing.
- How do you record people skydiving? Do you take both photos and videos?
Yes, we capture both photos and videos of your skydive! Our professional skydiver cameramen make sure every special moment is recorded, including:
- The plane ride before your jump.
- Your freefall (they jump just a split second before you to catch it all).
- The moment your parachute opens.
- Your landing.
All you have to do is enjoy the experience and smile for the camera! You’ll get amazing footage to remember and share your adventure.
- If I’m jumping along with my friend, is it possible to share one video together?
Unfortunately, no. Each tandem jumper has their own cameraman who focuses solely on capturing their experience. Due to safety protocols, you and your friend will not be close to each other during the jump, as the tandem instructors and cameramen stay with their assigned jumpers at all times.
If you and your friend would like videos and photos, you’ll each need to book the photo and video package separately to ensure that all the amazing moments are captured!
- Should I bring my own USB flash drive for the photos and video of the tandem jump?
No need to bring your own flash drive! We store all your photos and videos in our secure cloud storage for one year. You can easily download your content whenever you like, all from the comfort of your own home.
- Can I make my own recording of the jump? On my phone or my own camera?
Unfortunately, that’s not possible. All equipment used during skydiving must meet worldwide strict safety standards. Solo jumpers are allowed to use a camera only after obtaining a USPA "C" license, which requires a minimum of 200 jumps.
During your tandem jump, the only thing you can take with you is a small key for your locker on the ground, where you can store personal items like your mobile phone and car keys.
This ensures that all equipment is safe and properly checked for the jump.
- Not even if I have a special sports camera like GoPro?
Unfortunately, no, not even then. We understand it might seem like we’re just trying to sell more photos, but the truth is, safety is our top priority – not only yours, but everyone else’s around you. Without the right skills, experience, and equipment, having personal cameras in the air can pose a risk to everyone.
This safety measure is in place at the best skydiving locations worldwide, so feel free to ask around 😊.
- When will I get my photos and video?
We take all videos in Full HD, and editing takes a little time. Photos will usually appear in our cloud storage within 1–2 hours after your jump, so don’t worry if they show up first! Videos take a bit longer due to editing and are typically available within 24 hours.
Once ready, all your photos and videos will be stored securely in our cloud storage for 1 year, where you can easily download them. The link to your cloud storage will be provided on the certificate you receive after your jump.
If your photos or videos aren’t available after 48 hours, please feel free to contact us by phone or email, and we’ll assist you.
- Can you also take close ups like selfies?
Yes, we can! We use a special selfie camera mounted on your tandem pilot’s wrist, ensuring that the look on your face during freefall is captured perfectly. (Check our tandem jumps gallery to see how it looks!)
In addition to the freefall, we also record stunning footage as you cruise under the parachute, taking in the beautiful landscapes. All the footage from both the selfie camera and your personal cameraman will be compiled into one amazing video, so you can relive every exciting moment of your jump.
- What should I do, if I cannot find the video in my folder, it does not open, or I see someone else’s pictures?
If you're having trouble, it’s likely due to a technical issue. Simply visit our website at www.skw.cz, where you can fill in your contact details and describe the problem. Our video editors will look into it right away and help you access your video and photos as soon as possible.
- I lost my certificate with the printed details and now I can’t access my video! What should I do?
Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! We keep a backup of your materials throughout the season. Just send us an email at info@skyservice.cz with your name, as well as the date and time of your jump. This will help us quickly locate your video and send you a copy at no extra charge.
Please note, your files are stored for one year from your jump, so be sure to download them before then!
Other frequently asked questions
- Is there a place at the airport to keep my stuff?
Yes, absolutely! We offer a secure locker room where you can store your clothes, bags, car keys, phone, and other personal items. Rest assured, our lockers are very safe, and you can keep the key with you on the plane.
If you have larger luggage that requires special attention, we can store it in our office for safekeeping. You don’t need to worry about a thing—we’ll take good care of your belongings! 😉
- Do you also have female tandem pilots on your team?
Unfortunately, not at the moment. Our team currently consists of male tandem pilot instructors. While women make up a small percentage of tandem pilots globally, we’re proud to have a talented female camera flyer on our team who captures incredible moments in the sky.
- I have my own license. Can I come jump with you on my own?
Great! We’re excited to have you join us. Please send an email to dropzone@skyservice.cz and include the following documents:
- A scanned copy of your license
- Your logbook
- Your medical certificate
Got all that? Perfect! We can’t wait to welcome you at the airport.
- Can I jump with my glasses?
Yes, absolutely! We want you to fully enjoy the breathtaking views. If you wear glasses, bring them along—we’ll provide you with special goggles that fit comfortably over your glasses.
That said, if you have the option, we recommend wearing contact lenses for the jump. They’re often more comfortable and convenient during freefall.
- Is there a Wi-Fi, toilets, and all other necessities at the airport?
Absolutely! We’ve got everything you need to make your visit as comfortable as possible. You’ll find a reliable Wi-Fi connection, clean and well-maintained toilets, and even a cozy snack bar to grab a quick bite.
- I forgot my mobile phone there! What now?
No worries—just contact us as soon as you realize it’s missing. We’ll do our best to find it before anyone else does! Our team regularly checks the lockers and changing rooms throughout the day, and any lost items are placed in our lost & found.
